Sourcing the Skinny on BC’s Restaurant Industry

WE | Farmers Markets

we11.jpg

In my column this week in the WE, I tap out a short guide to some of our farmer’s markets:

As we busy ourselves for the dreadfully imminent beginning of the school and hockey seasons, it’s easy to forget that our farmers markets haven’t come to an end just yet. Some go strong right up until the last weeks of October — but then we won’t see them again until May and June roll back around. So, rather than hunkering down with your books or debating the relative merits of the new Canucks uniform — and thereby, in both scenarios, surrendering any and all claims to what’s left of summer — try spending an hour or two narrowing the disconnect between yourself and the land in which you live by doing a little locally-minded shopping while you still can.

Et cetera.
